Pony.ai Expands Robotaxi Commercialization With ATBB to Accelerate Asset‑Light Scaling

Pony.ai expands Robotaxi commercialization with ATBB as it announces a strategic alliance with Beijing ATBB Travel & Express Service Co., Ltd to scale fully driverless services in China’s top urban and airport travel corridors. This partnership reinforces an asset‑light deployment strategy that leverages fleet integration and shared operational platforms.

Asset‑Light Expansion With ATBB

Under the new collaboration, Pony.ai and ATBB will jointly roll out and manage autonomous Robotaxi services across tier‑1 cities and airport routes. By partnering with ATBB, an established premium mobility provider, Pony.ai advances its asset‑light commercialisation model and accelerates nationwide service adoption.

This arrangement integrates Pony.ai’s Gen‑7 autonomous vehicles into both companies’ mobility ecosystems. Consequently, robots will be deployed efficiently across varied travel demand profiles, including urban commutes, airport transfers and business travel.

Strategic Integration Across Platforms

Both organisations will permit seamless access to demand and fleet resources through unified platforms. Pony.ai will incorporate partner‑operated Robotaxis into its ride‑hailing platform while integrating its own fleet into ATBB’s Xinghui Mobility app, improving capacity allocation and customer reach.

This integration supports flexible scaling, enhances capital efficiency and aligns with Pony.ai’s broader commercial vision of sustainable autonomous mobility service deployment.

Focus on Premium Travel Experience

The partnership aims to deepen autonomous driving adoption in premium and business‑oriented segments. Fully driverless Robotaxis are positioned to deliver on‑time performance, privacy and in‑vehicle customisation that appeal to frequent business travellers and discerning passengers.

Fleet Growth and Milestones

Pony.ai’s commercial Robotaxi footprint continues to expand rapidly. The company recently secured China’s first citywide permit for fully driverless Robotaxi operations in Shenzhen for 2025 and now operates across Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai.

The total fleet has exceeded 1,159 vehicles, surpassing 2025 targets with plans to scale to more than 3,000 Robotaxis by the end of 2026. Importantly, Pony.ai’s Gen‑7 Robotaxi service in Guangzhou has achieved city‑wide unit economics breakeven, affirming its commercial viability and reinforcing confidence in the asset‑light scaling model.

Outlook and Industry Impact

By aligning with ATBB, Pony.ai expands its strategic footprint in autonomous mobility while enhancing service economics and operational flexibility. As more partners contribute fleet investment and mobility expertise, Pony.ai anticipates accelerated deployment and sustainable growth in both domestic and global markets.

Investors and industry stakeholders will be watching how swiftly these joint fleets are operationalised and whether unit economics success in Guangzhou can be replicated across new corridors.
